ABOUT RICE'S SWIMMING SCHOOL
Rice's Swimming School has been successfully teaching children to swim for over 62 years.
Established in 1960 by Alf and Heather Rice, it quickly became known as a reputable school among local families.
David continues to run the business and his two sons have both taught at the swimming school.
Each season, more than 350 children between the ages of 4 and 12 learn correct swimming techniques and life-saving water safety skills at Rice's Swimming School.
Our outdoor pools are heated to 28 degrees so lessons can be held regardless of weather.

I was in Rice Swimming School's first class with my sister Jean. I began teaching with my father when I was 11 years old, helping nervous beginners. By 17, I was teaching classes of my own during my school holidays.
Our teaching style has continued to evolve since those early days, but it is still based on the principles of high activity and daily lessons taught by AUSTSWIM-trained instructors which also focus on your child's confidence and enjoyment. It is a formula that continues to produce strong swimmers with a love of the water. With the outdoor heated pools, graded classes and passionate instructors, the children make rapid progress.
OUR INSTRUCTORS
Our staff are fully qualified Austswim instructors. They are passionate about teaching children to swim. Several of our instructors have been with us for over 15 years.
The priorities of our swimming instructors is to keep your child safe, build their confidence and teach them a love of the water and the lifelong skill of being a strong swimmer.
Our spacious garden area caters for families who wish to come and watch their children learning to swim.
